Diplomatic and Official Visa (accreditation)

Diplomatic and official passport holders (excluding KOTRA) who take up posts at foreign missions in South Africa require diplomatic/offcial visa before proceeding to South Africa. Members of family and private servants are issued with diplomatic/offcial visa.

  Requirements :
  • BI-84 application form;
  • One photograph (35 mm x 45 mm);
  • Diplomatic or Official Passport;
  • Accreditation or proof of diplomatic/official status from the relevant foreign state (MOFAT or the Embassy);
  • Copy of the Note Verbale from the relative Embassy in Pretoria to SA Department of foreign Affairs iro Certification of diplomatic/official status, or relevant qualification or position, and reciprocity from the embassy of the relevant foreign state in RSA in respect of the foreigners; and
  • A vaccination certificate;
    (A Yellow Fever Certificate is required from travellers entering from or passing through the Yellow Fever area. Travellers flying directly from Korea do not require a yellow fever vaccination certificate.)
  Processing time :
