  • All necessary application forms, except BI-9 for fingerprints and BI-335E declaration, can be downloaded from the Department of Home Affairs (forms) website or are available from the Embassy.
  • Please complete the application form and relevant documents in black ink.
  • An applicant¡¯s particulars in various documents are issued as recorded in the Population Register at the Department of Home Affairs in Pretoria. Therefore, it is recommended that any changes in your personal records must be reported to the Department of Home Affairs, directly or through the Embassy.
  • Original documents will be certified by the Embassy, (gratis), and will be returned to you directly or by the self-addressed, stamped envelope.
  • Should accompanying documents be in another language, besides English, these must be translated into English and certified by the respective Embassy. Originals submitted to us will be returned to you.
  • Fees must accompany the application and be paid in Korean Won, either in cash, bank check or postal orders. Fees are levied per application and are not refundable. Fees are adjusted annually, based on the rate of exchange. In case of submission by mail, postal orders must be made payable to ¡°The South African Embassy, Seoul¡±.
  • For quicker processing, applications may be forwarded to the Department of Home Affairs by courier (please contact DHL 1588-0001 for fee) at the expense of the applicant. It must be paid in the form of cash when you submit the application.
  • For photographs, please see the website of the Department of Home Affairs (photographs).
  • Passport applicants must return their old passports for cancellation when collecting the new passports.
  • Applications may be submitted by registered mail at the applicant¡¯s risk. (It may take longer to process than when the submission thereof is made in person). A self-addressed stamped envelope must be enclosed for return of the original documents.
  • Applications who wish to receive their documents by mail, after the processing has been finalised, should enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope for despatch.
